Dental Fillings in Dallas
The Protective, Natural-Looking Solution for Decayed or Damaged Teeth
Do you think you need a dental filling for a cavity? You may notice a twinge or a toothache as the first symptom that something is wrong – maybe a cavity, chip, or crack – all of which are reparable through restorative dentistry. Dental fillings are usually the answer for tooth decay, and they can be made in a variety of materials, although we prefer porcelain and composite resin at Lancaster Family Dentistry because these materials are beautiful yet durable. Not only that, but they match your natural teeth because they are matched with a custom shade. We offer high-quality dental fillings to patients of all ages in Dallas and the surrounding regions.

What Happens During a Dental Filling Appointment?
When you come for a dental filling visit, we want to ensure your comfort and ease any nerves you feel. Next, we will isolate the tooth to be filled from surrounding teeth and so it stays dry for the procedure. You will be given numbing medicine so you stay pain-free. We carefully remove any decay and then a bonding agent is applied with composite resin. These materials are then hardened using a special light, and the resin will be shaped so it looks just like a natural tooth. Once your filling is in place, it will be smoothed and polished.
You may not be a good candidate for just a dental filling if your tooth is decayed or damaged past the point where it would be a useful solution. In these cases, your dentist may recommend a root canal followed by the placement of a dental crown, or if the tooth is severely decayed or damaged, extraction followed by a dental implant may be the best solution for you.
Do you need a comprehensive oral exam and cleaning, or perhaps restorative work for your oral health? We can help. To contact us at Lancaster Family Dentistry, please get in touch by calling (469) 547-5834 now.
